About This Tool

The Sentence Counter & Analyzer provides a comprehensive breakdown of your writing's structure and readability in a single click. Paste any text and the tool instantly counts every sentence, calculates average sentence length, identifies the longest and shortest sentences, and tallies total syllables across the entire passage. These metrics give you a data-driven picture of how your writing flows and where it may be creating unnecessary friction for readers.

At the heart of the analyzer is a Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease score — one of the most widely used and trusted readability formulas in the world. The score runs from 0 to 100; higher numbers mean the text is easier to read. Alongside the raw score, the tool translates the result into a school grade level so you instantly know whether your content is pitched at a general audience, an academic reader, or somewhere in between. Long sentences (more than 25 words) are counted separately and highlighted in yellow in the sentence preview panel so you can identify and break them up.

Writers, editors, teachers, and content marketers all benefit from understanding the structural properties of their text. Students can use the tool to ensure their essays hit assignment requirements. Bloggers can check whether their posts are accessible to a broad audience. Professionals can verify that internal documents and reports read clearly and without undue complexity. Everything runs in your browser without any data being sent to a server, so you can safely analyze confidential documents and sensitive drafts.
